Village Board Approves Police Tasers

Among the resolutions approved at the last board meeting was a partnership with the Northbrook Park District to conduct 4th of July festivities.

The Northbrook Village Board held a regular meeting last Tuesday, during which severalal resolutions were passed including an authorization for the police department to purchase new taser equipment.

Other resolutions included approving the procurement of equipment calibration, repair and computer programming services for water production and distribution systems; approving an agreement for the purchase and installation of walk-in shower units at Crestwood Place and authorizing the renewal of a contract for the purchase of uniforms for the Fire Department.

Trustee Mike Scolaro was sworn into office.

Under the President’s Report, several important individuals were recognized: Nancy Bloom for her 24 years of service to Youth Services as Executive Director; Bernard "Bernie" Lytle for his 36 years of service to the Village of Northbrook Public Works Department; Sheldon Silverman for his 30 years of service to the Northbrook Plan Commission; and Sandie Huberty for her 9 years of service to the Northbrook Youth Commission.

Also approved was an Ordinance amending the Board of Fire and Police Commission rules and regulations. Under the Planning and Zoning report, three preliminary reviews were conducted. During the Administration & Finance Committee report, a Resolution was passed approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Northbrook Park District to conduct the 4th of July festivities. Also approved were two Resolutions authorizing contributions to seven local community organizations. 

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be on June 11, 2013.
