The village will close vehicular lanes at the Northwest corner of Dundee Rd. and Pfingsten Rd. on Saturday in preparation for broken water main repair work, scheduled to start Saturday morning, according to the village website.
The break occurred beneath the west side crosswalk on Dundee Rd., and water was diverted into the storm sewers with sandbags to prevent flooding, according to the village. The road has also been salted for motorist safety.
The village provided the following closure details for Saturday, Jan. 19:
The curb lane north of the Dundee and Pfingsten intersection on southbound Pfingsten is closed and will remain closed until the break is fixed.
On Saturday starting at 5:00 a.m., the center lanes on Dundee Road, west of the intersection and the west bound center lane east of the intersection will be closed to traffic.
Eastbound Dundee traffic trying to head north on Pfingsten should use Anthony Trail to Maria Drive to avoid the Dundee/Pfingsten intersection.
The work is scheduled for Saturday between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to minimize the impact on traffic. It is anticipated that no water customers will be affected during the repair work.
