North Shore Attorney Picked For GOP Committeeman

Richard Porter will take the seat left by Richard S. Williamson, who died last month.

Richard Porter, an attorney from Winnetka, has been picked to be the Illinois Republican Party's national committeeman, Crain's reportsPorter will fill the seat left by Richard S. Williamson, who died last month.

I am honored to be elected as National Committeeman, especially at such a critical time for our state and our country. I promise to help grow our party and win elections, and I look forward to joining the Illinois Republican leadership team,” Porter told Progress Illinois. 

Porter was chosen for the unpaid position among four other candidates, according to Crain's. 

Porter also worked in the White House during George H.W. Bush's administration, according to Progress Illinois.
