$2M House on Northbrook's 'Most Desirable Street' For Sale

Agree or disagree: Woodlawn Road is Northbrook's most desirable street?

That's what the listing for a proposed new construction of a six-bedroom, $1,895,000 home on Woodlawn says. The 5,400-square-foot home will have a chef's kitchen, finished basement and marble bath.

Woodlawn is a great street in Northbrook. The lots are nice and big at about 100 x 200 feet. So that allows larger homes to be built there. Many of the homes on that street have been torn down and you can find some of the most beautiful homes in Northbrook there. However, if you are really looking for the most desirable street in Northbrook... I would probably say Bridlewood. You can't compete with the winding roads and trees with these large lots.

Woodlawn? I suppose it depends on how you define desirable. I prefer streets in smaller neighborhoods, the kind of streets that still have block parties, kids playing and don't have lots of traffic. I love Walnut. No surprise Kati prefers Bridlewood as I believe she has a house for sale on that street ;-).

I would have to say a nice quiet street like plum island would be very desirable. You don't belong on this small street unless you live on it.

@ Melissa Morreale- If that's the case, then Kati should really know what she's talking about as I'm sure she has many houses for sale in many areas but she picked Bridlewood. I drive through there sometimes just to enjoy the scenery. BEAUTIFUL! and I don't have any listings there ;-)

Thanks @cheri! And, while I do have a listing at 42bridlewood.info (selfless plug)... I can talk all day long about the streets in Northbrook and the best ones. I love Walnut too @melissa. One of the reasons that Walnut is such a great street is because the owners take very good care of their houses, and there are nicely done curbs and gutters on the street. You may not realize how much that makes a difference in your perception of your neighborhood, but it does!
