Northbrook Home of Scott Lee Cohen to be Auctioned

The foreclosed Northbrook home Scott Lee Cohen, who won the 2010 Democratic primary for lieutenant governor then withdrew once his arrest record was made public, is going on the auction block next month.

The Northbrook home of Scott Lee Cohen, the former Illinois lieutenant governor candidate who spent more than $2 million of his own money in the 2010 Democratic primary, will be auctioned in Chicago on Sept. 16, reported Crain's Chicago Business.

Cohen made even more headlines after it was revealed he was arrested in 2005 for domestic abuse for allegedly holding a knife to his girlfriend's throat, though the complaint was later dismissed, reported the Northbrook Star.

Cohen withdrew from the race then later ran as an independent candidate for governor.

Cohen and his ex-wife Debra purchased the 4,606 square-foot home at 3141 Huntington Lane in 1994 for $780,000. It was foreclosed in 2011, according to Crain's.
