30 Rock Star Attends Glenbrook Foundation Fundraiser

Glenbrook North High School alum Scott Adsit attended the foundation's inaugural fundraiser on May 4.

 

Glenbrook North High School alum Scott Adsit, 47, who plays producer Pete Hornberger in the NBC comedy 30 Rock was among the more than 100 people who attended Glenbrook Foundation’s inaugural fundraiser called A Night with Glenbrook Theater on May 4, Chicago Tribune reported. 

Adsit went backstage before students from Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South high schools performed West Side Story to wish cast members good luck. In 1984 the 30-Rock star took part in the production of same musical along with a few other alumni that were also present at the fundraiserChicago Tribune reported.

Every year, students from both Glenbrooks collaborate on a District-wide musical. This year's "Night of Glenbrook Theater" is also the first annual benefit event for the Glenbrook Foundation, an organization that raises money to enrich and enhance the educational experience District 225 students.

To date, the foundation says they have offered more than 20 grants to support innovative teaching projects, leadership opportunities for low income students and college scholarships.

West Side Story first premiered on Broadway in 1957, with a score by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, accoridng to the Northbrook Star. The musical eventually won a Tony Awards for Jerome Robbins’ iconic choreography, and later adapted to a motion picture.
