ART CLASSES FOR ALL PEOPLE, SCHOOL OPENS IN NORTHBROOK
Art and Soul, the new Northbrook art school launched by Pam Tokowitz is currently taking enrollments for the Fall season. Tokowitz, a social worker and artist as well as a Northbrook resident believes that creative expression, art in particular eases the stress of life. “The process of creating art activates the imaginative side of the brain, stimulating our spatial and intuitive knowledge,” says Tokowitz, a graduate of the Loyola School of Social Work. Her experience includes working with a wide range of students from public, private and special needs schools and community service centers. Classes in drawing, painting, collage and beading are available to students of all ages and levels. “Our instructors are experienced, innovative and adaptive to a variety of individual’ creative styles and needs.” There is even a drop in center and special programs for clergy interested in exploring the relationship between spirituality and the creative process. Classes and work-shops are offered for all ages in addition to multi-level drawing instruction. Stressing the unique culture at her school, Tokowitz also emphasizes the importance of offering a place in the community where individuals can connect and share ideas. Private instruction as well as special event parties are available. Art and Soul classes are held in the Christopher Laughlin School of Music located at 1955 Raymond Drive, Suite 118 .For more information, and to register, visit the website, www.artandsoulnb.com or call 847-341-2955
