The class draws on real world examples and is presented in a manner that is conducive to adult learning.  The setting is an informal roundtable with around 20 participants.

Topics covered in the Leadership program include economic development, planning and zoning issues, strengths and weaknesses of the Northbrook business climate; transportation challenges, educational resources, municipal services and community health and social service resources.

A popular part of Leadership is a teamwork exercise at the Park District's Teams Challenge Course, Meadowhill Park, beginning with a series of outdoor activities, trust initiatives and team-building exercises, designed to assist in personal and professional development.  Guided by trained facilitators, participants develop leadership and problem-solving skills and learn about cooperation and communication while enjoying outdoor adventures and challenges.
