Rachel's Challenge

JOIN ST. NORBERT SCHOOL TO MEET RACHEL’S CHALLENGE

St. Norbert School is going to take Rachel’s Challenge as part of their national celebration of Catholic Schools Week.Founded in honor of Rachel Scott (one of the first students killed in the Columbine High School tragedy), Rachel’s Challenge exists “to inspire, equip and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.” On Tuesday, January 31, students will participate in an assembly to motivate them to make positive changes in the way they treat others. Junior high students and staff will also participate in a training session designed to provide the “how to’s” to make that change. The entire Northbrook community is invited to St. Norbert School ( 1817 Walters Ave, Northbrook) at 7pm Tuesday evening to a powerful session that ends with a specific challenge to parents and community leaders, showing them how they can reinforce the decisions their youth are making. Says Principal Kimberly Rich, “This is going to be a very moving, positive, unique experience for us and we are very lucky to have this special event as part of Catholic Schools Week.”

Rachel’s Challenge is only part of the school’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week.  Other highlights include an Open House, Reception and Science Fair on Sunday, January 29 from 12:30pm-2pm at the school. Prospective and current families are invited to tour the school and view the junior high students science projects.  During the week there will be special events for students including an all school service project, trivia contest, and “Bring a Friend to School Day” as well as a visitation day for parents and the community. For more information, please call the school at 847-272-0051 or visit the website at www.stnorbertschool.org.
