Glenbrook North Athletes Insured For Catastrophic Injuries

A recent state law mandating high school athletes receive medical insurance prompted District 225 to insure all its students.

As of this school year, students at both Glenbrook high schools are insured for catastrophic sports injuries, such as head, neck and spine accidents that could render people immobile, according to the Glenview Announcements.

A recent state law requiring athletes to get medical coverage for catastrophic sports injuries led the district to insure all its students for a one-year policy at $2.20 per student for all 4,875, which amounts to a $10,725 policy with a $25,000 deductible, the Glenview Announcements reports.
