Glenbrook South Names 2013 Distinguished Teacher

John Meyer, a U.S. history teacher at the regular level and in the Glenbrook Academy of International Studies, was honored with the Distinguished Teacher of 2013 award at Glenbrook South’s Honors and Awards assembly in May, according to the school’s website.

The Glenbrook South Parents Association named Meyer this year’s Distinguished Teacher because students said he is someone with a passion for teaching who knows more about U.S. history than most textbooks.

A student said Meyer always made himself available to students whether they were seeking help with school work or personal advice.
