Northbrook Junior High School’s Organic Garden to Open in April

Northbrook School District 28 is building an organic garden next to the school.

 

Northbrook Junior High School students will soon have an outdoor classroom to learn about healthy eating. 

Northbrook School District 28 is building an organic garden next to the school and hopes to adjust its curriculum so students can harvest vegetables and fruits and see how plants grow by exploring the garden—produce from the garden will be used as food in the school cafeteria, Chicago Tribune reported.

The garden, which is 72 feet by 31 feet, was funded with $24,000 in donations and is expected to open in April, Chicago Tribune reported.
