Oakton Community College Ranked 3rd Best in Nation

Ratemyprofessor.com included Oakton in 2011-2012 ranking based on student input about the school and instructors. The school also introduced a dual degree program with Roosevelt University.

, the Skokie and Des Plaines based junior college, was the third highest rated junior college in the United States last year, according to an annual ratemyprofessor.com

RateMyProfessors.com, the largest online destination for college professor ratings, recently released its annual lists of the nation’s top professors and universities, based entirely on student input. The list ranks universities, university professors, junior colleges and junior college professors.

Oakton Community College was ranked third behind San Diego City College and Hostos Community College in New York. The rankings for best schools were determined by analyzing both professor ratings and campus ratings.

According to last week's Village staff memo, Northbrook resident Janet Spector Bishop, the Senior Manager of Marketing for Oakton Community College, was videotaped on Monday night for the October edition of NCTV’s Talk Around Town. The program will be cablecast daily at noon, 8 p.m. and midnight, in October on Northbrook Community Television - Cable Channel 17.

Also announced last week, Oakton Community College and Roosevelt University in Chicago signed a new Duel Degree Program, the Evanston Review reported. Oakton students in the program will be guaranteed acceptance to Roosevelt once they complete their associate's degree.
