West Northfield School District 31 Updates its Safety Measures

District considers revamping entrance to Northbrook's Field Middle School to be similar to the entrance at Winkelman School in Glenview.

West Northfield School District 31 is updating its safety measures to require visitors turn over their driver’s license or state identification at school’s front offices and will have greater police presence on school grounds, Chicago Tribune reports.

The district is also considering machines that would check visitors’ driver’s licenses for any record and revamping the entrance of Field Middle School so visitors have to go through a vestibule, into the office and finally into the school, similar to the front entrance at the district’s other school Winkelman School in Glenview, Chicago Tribune reports.
