Rally for the Cure at Five Seasons Northbrook

“Rally for the Cure” is right around the corner—and at Five Seasons Family Sports Club, 1300 Techny Road in Northbrook.

The event to raise money for breast cancer research is on Tuesday, May 31, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with light food and drinks thereafter.

Ladies are invited to come on their own or with a guest to play tennis in a round-robin format. The cost is $45.50 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going toward the Rally for the Cure program.

Chris Sheldon, Five Seasons’ director of racquet sports, said the club is eager to play whatever role it can to provide support. This is the fourth year that Five Seasons has hosted Rally for the Cure.

According to organizers from Susan G. Komen For the Cure, a woman has a one in eight chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. With early detection that halts any spread beyond the breast, however, the five-year survival rate is 98 percent.

“Education is such a vital ally in this fight and we are committed to being an agent of raising awareness among everyone, especially women,” said Sheldon.

In the event of bad weather, play will move to the indoor courts. For more information, please contact Sheldon at 847-897-5200.
