Spartans Win Big At Deerfield's Homecoming Game

Glenbrook North earned their second win in a row against Deerfield on Friday, beating the Warriors 44 to 7.

Despite a scoreless first quarter, Glenbrook North earned a big win against Deerfield High School on Friday night, beating the Warriors 44 to 7 at Deerfield's homecoming game.

Spartan quarterback A.J. Spitz was the star on Friday night, scoring three touchdowns for his team throughout the game.

Deerfield struggled with possession throughout the game, losing the ball four times on fumbles.

Glenbrook North had their hand on the ball most of the game, earning multiple first downs on almost every possession and retrieving the ball quickly when they were on defense.

The Spartan's fate was practically sealed by the end of the first half, when a 26 yard touchdown pass caught by senior Will Brassill gave GBN a 28-7 lead into the third quarter.

Deerfield's only touchdown was scored by junior Alex Williams, who ran for 39 yards two minutes into the second quarter.

This is Glenbrook North's second win in a row, bringing their season record to 3 and 3.

This is Deerfield's fifth loss in a row and their second biggest deficit since they lost in a shutout against Glenbrook South.
