VIDEO: 10th Annual Hockey Exchange Brings Together Swedes And Local Boys

International youth hockey tournament takes over Northbrook Sports Center; fundraiser honors founder Bob Krolak.

With players from around the north suburbs--and from Sweden--the annual Krolak Cup is underway at the .  The international youth hockey tournament brings multiple teams of 14-year-old hockey players to Northbrook from Huddinge, Sweden.  Each player lives with a host family for the week and gets a chance to compete on the ice and take in all that Chicagoland has to offer.

Now in its 10th year, the Krolak Cup began Tuesday night with a pair of exhibition games, open to the public for a $5 admission fee.  All proceeds will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in honor of tournament founder Bob Krolak, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease.

Tournament games will be pick back up on Thursday and Friday evenings, with teams from Northbrook, Glenview, Winnetka and other nearby suburbs competing.  Round robin play will continue on Saturday, with championship games being played on Sunday.
