VIDEO: Indians' Jason Kipnis Inducted to Northbrook Sports Hall of Fame

The Glenbrook North alum and Cleveland Indians' second baseman was in town this week for a ceremony at the Northbrook Sports Center.

Jason Kipnis was all smiles during his visit to the Northbrook Sports Center on Tuesday night. The Glenbrook North alum was inducted into the Northbrook Park District Sports Hall of Fame and signed autographs for his young fans.

"This place had a big part to do with me growing up," Kipnis said. "The support I got from everyone in this town — teachers, friends, family — it really does help the whole process and makes it easier."

Northbrook's Heather Aseltine, the National Collegiate Figure Skating Champion of 2002, will also join the Hall of Fame this year during a Park Board meeting on February 27.
