August 7 is National Night Out in Northbrook

Northbrook Police and the Northbrook Park District are scheduled to host an evening of music, games and food at the Meadowhill Aquatic Center.

Village President Sandy Frum proclaimed Tuesday, Aug. 7 as National Night Out during last week's Board of Trustees meeting

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., entrance to the will be free as and the Northbrook Park District host the 8th Annual National Night Out, according to a village staff memo

Guests will get a chance to meet Northbrook's Police Chief Charles J. Wernick along with other village officials during a night of DJ entertainment, free food, games and raffles.

The Northbrook Police Department will also provide tips on crime prevention, when they're not busy getting dropped into a dunk tank.

National Night Out is a community wide event designed to promote the partnership between village officials, Northbrook Police, the Northbrook Park District and the Northbrook community. It's meant to be a setting for community members to learn about crime prevention and public safety.

In the event of rain, the program will not be rescheduled.
