Northbrook Braves Win Cook County American Legion Baseball Tournament
The Braves beat the Eagles of Arlington Heights American Legion 9 to 6 on Saturday, according to the Journal & Topics.
Matt Hart threw 155 pitches for the Braves of Northbrook American Legion Post 971 on Saturday, letting six runs on nine hits, striking out seven batters and walking two, the Journal & Topics reports.
The Braves scored runs in pairs, making two runs in the second, fourth, fifth and seventh innings, and a ninth run in the final inning. They will advance to the American Legion state tournament in Mattoon, IL this weekend.
The American Legion is a national service organization that provides aid and resources for veterans, along with mentoring for local youth.
