Northbrook Kids Walk For Diabetes Fundraiser

Students from Glenbrook North and South are joining Northbrook Junior High's Jared Kuper and Allison Rosenbaum during a walk to raise money for diabetes research.

Jared Kuper, a seventh grader at Northbrook Junior High with type 1 diabetes, will lead a team of supporters and volunteers at a charity walk for the American Diabetes Association on Saturday morning at Didier Farms in Lincolnshire.

Jared's team has already raised almost $5,000 for the ADA, with the help of his classmate and co-captain Allison Rosenbaum, an eighth grader at Northbrook Junior High, also with type 1 diabetes.

Glenbrook North's varsity and JV poms team, along with Glenbrook South's varsity field hockey team will be cheering on Team Koops & Rosey on Saturday morning.

"These kids really care and I think it says a lot about our towns," said Laura Kuper said, Jared's mom.

Registration is free and starts at 8:30 a.m. The walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Didier Farms is located at 16678 Aptakisic Rd. in Lincolnshire.
