After reading the reviews on this restaurant we were very excited about dining there. Be careful with the wine at the bar and ask prices first, as several of us ordered the house cab and were surprised with a $12 a glass price.
Allow at least 2 hours for dinner. The grilled calamari was excellent great flavor and served over grilled eggplant. The garlic in the Chicken Vesuvios was over whelming and the Ossembucu was very fatty. As dinner progressed service was lacking. No refills on water or breads with the entrees.
As we were finishing the waiter offered to bag our take home in the kitchen. NO, NO, NEVER! This is were everyone was disgusted. The waiter brought out all the take homes after some delay. He was missing one of our friends and she asked what happened to it. Again after some time he returned and as she looked at her meal she found lettuce and some spaghetti mixed in with her meal. It appeared that her food had been disposed of and then they went back and picked it from the garbage! Disgusting! We asked for the owner and he came over after 10 minutes and all of a sudden forgot how to speak English and reverted to broken Italian to pass off the mistake.
Everyone was so disgusted over the take home incident that everyone left their take home on the table fearing what was in them. We learned never let the waiter pack your food at Trattoria Oliverii.
There is very limited parking and the restaurant vibrates ever time a train goes by.

We loved the family vibe of the place. It felt like a real Italian joint. My husband's pasta was excellent. I will admit my champagne pasta was a bit rich for my taste. The salads were yummy and the service was great. The place was crowded but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. I would definitely go back.
