...because, all the restaurants on Skokie Blvd have done so well in the past :(

The village wants to use your tax money to improve the intersection for the developer. The developerRead More and the village want to fill every square inch of this property. It's already a disaster, and it's not even built.

I am disappointed to see that there are no locally owned businesses in this plan. All chains,Read More meaning local residents aren't reaping the profits, and Northbrook residents likely aren't working what are going to be minimum wage jobs.

Anyone but Phillips Chevrolet. I got screwed at Phillips. I picked-out a truck, put down a $200 cashRead More deposit and came back the next day to find they sold my truck to someone else. Cheeseballs.

That is a shame Lenny Kravitz. I'm sorry to hear that. The patch says Fallon will buy the truckRead More for the rep (in quotes). My understanding is that he is going to buy a truck from the rep. He said last Friday night that he didn't want to make it that easy for the sale.

Only 4 percent of adults and 4 percent of children suffer peanut allergies ...
Vicky Kujawa March 19, 2014 at 10:02 pm
If someone was allergic to nuts they would not be able to be on this board lol!
Diana Flores March 21, 2014 at 01:16 pm
wow I can't believe that only one piece of candy had a peanut out of the 24 candies in the box!
Jordan S. Zoot March 5, 2014 at 02:49 pm
Given all of the things I have to worry about today I am sure glad that tainted nuts isn't one ofRead More them.
Oliver P. McCracken March 6, 2014 at 09:33 am
I thought folks were complaining that The Patch no longer had an editor? If there is no editor, thenRead More who deleted my nuts-&-taint-tainted remark?

Grocery shopping is getting a lot more interesting! Our store was Dominick's. Before Joe Caputo'sRead More said they were coming our closest stores were Fresh Farms, Carnicerias Jimenez, and Save-A-Lot. In a while Mariano's on Willow is coming! How will I ever be able to make up my mind! What a problem. Oh, and I do go to Sunset on occasion!

Up to a point I feel it is OK to wait for the "right" job. Unfortunately I know a fewRead More people on "long term" unemployment, over 2 years and these people need to stop milking the system, they are really just plain lazy. I hate to say that about friends but the facts are just that, facts. I say take a less desirable job, most likely it will pay more than the unemployment benefit, if not you will still get some benefit to make up the difference. While working at this undesirable job you can still search for work in the field you want and if something truly promising comes up you can go for an interview. If you are really qualified and the job really wants you, they will be willing to be flexible to see you. Maybe earlier before you start your job, or you can go in late, with of course prior notice to your employer. The same goes for leaving work a little early to go to an interview, and what about on your lunch break. There are ways and you won't be a drain on an already drained system. I think 26 weeks is long enough to pay someone for unemployment after that push a broom or clean a toilet. Take a job that the illegals are willing to do so we have able bodied citizens working again.
