Lake Forest scored fast in the third quarter and made a big push to keep Northbrook on defense for most of the third. It didn't stop Northbrook from owning a fast break to score back-to-back goals midway through the quarter. Lake Forest scored early again, in the fourth quarter, but the Spartans answered right back with two more goals. "I think it was a good way to end out our season on a high note," boy's lacrosse assistant varisty coach Mike Synek said. "These guidelines are based on the most recent scientific evidence, as well as the expertise of the coaches who will help implement them," said Dr. Preston M. Wolin, a member of the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
The Illinois High School Association approved new safety rules Wednesday to limit tackling in youth football practice in an effort to reduce head injuries, reported the Daily Herald. In March, a controversial bill sponsored by State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) proposing to limit the number of days players could have full contact hitting practice (twice a week) failed in the House committee. The new IHSA policy calls for coaches to gradually increase the time players can participate in preseason practice, along with the number of protective pads they can wear. On the seventh day of practice, players can participate in five hours of full contact drills wearing full pads, according to the IHSA. However, no single practice can exceed …

Northbrook officials like Chicago Bear Bob Christian’s plan but did not like the proposed location in Sky Harbor Industrial Park.
Former Chicago Bear Bob Christian is exploring relocation options after Northbrook trustees voiced concerns about a proposal to relocate his Northbrook-based athletic training center to Sky Harbor Industrial Park, Chicago Tribune reported. Northbrook officials say the property at 237 Melvin Drive is zoned for industrial use and prohibits a business like, TCBOOST, which Christian co-owns. Approving the relocation would be a “slippery slope” that could change the character of the industrial park, Village Trustee Todd Heller said, Chicago Tribune reported. TCBOOST's headquarters is currently located at 600 Waukegan Rd., and has a facility in Mount Prospect, according to the business' website.
