Free Slurpee, Anyone?

It's 7-Eleven's 85th birthday and the convenience store is celebrating by giving away free 7.11oz. Slurpee's from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.

Slurpee lovers across the U.S. will be thrilled to know the frozen treats will be given away Wednesday, July 11, to celebrate 7-Eleven's 85th birthday. The icy refreshments will be free from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at 7-Eleven stores across the country, including those in Winnetka, Wilmette, Glencoe and Northbrook.  To join in the festivities, you can download birthday apparel including miniature bowties, hair bows and party hats at Slurpee.com. All of our region's gas is overpriced! You can fill up in Kenosha Wisconsin for about $3.35 and Racine for about $3.31 per gallon. Not to mention southern Illinois with even cheaper gas. All this explanation about expensive special formulas doesn't wash with me. Taxes are way too high, but don't account for these differences. We are geting ripped off.   more ›
