Former NFL Player Seeks New Location For His Athletic Training Business in Northbrook

Northbrook officials like Chicago Bear Bob Christian’s plan but did not like the proposed location in Sky Harbor Industrial Park.

Former Chicago Bear Bob Christian is exploring relocation options after Northbrook trustees voiced concerns about a proposal to relocate his Northbrook-based athletic training center to Sky Harbor Industrial Park, Chicago Tribune reported.  Northbrook officials say the property at 237 Melvin Drive is zoned for industrial use and prohibits a business like, TCBOOST, which Christian co-owns. Approving the relocation would be a “slippery slope” that could change the character of the industrial park, Village Trustee Todd Heller said, Chicago Tribune reported. TCBOOST's headquarters is currently located at 600 Waukegan Rd., and has a facility in Mount Prospect, according to the business' website.

I agree with Trustee Heller. This could start a "snowball effect". Wasn't there a zoning issue a few years ago when a Korean Church wanted to locate in Sky Harbor Industrail Park?   more ›

Reports: Lovie Smith Fired As Chicago Bears Coach

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Chicago Bears Coach Lovie Smith has been fired.

NFL.com is reporting that Chicago Bears Coach Lovie Smith has been fired. The Bears failed to make the playoffs despite starting the season 7-1. The team struggled to a 10-6 finish and lost out on the final playoff spot to the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears have not made the playoffs in five of the last six seasons, though Smith did get the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006. In recent years the Bears offense has been inconsistent, despite trading two first round picks for quarterback Jay Cutler. The Chicago Tribune noted that Smith had gone through four offensive coordinators during his tenure. Smith compiled an 80-63 record as head coach of the Chicago Bears since 2004, Yahoo!
