It's here—Election Day is upon us. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to vote early, tomorrow is the final opportunity to fulfill your civic duty. Whether it’s your first election or your 50th, Northbrook Patch will have everything you need to stay up-to-date throughout the day and into the night. We’ll be around town to chat with residents, take exit polls and snap some election-day photo galleries. Expect hourly return updates starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Before you hit the polls tomorrow, check out what they had to say. Northbrook Patch contacted each candidate with a list of questions ranging from district finances to teacher morale. Today's Q&A is with James Bream, a Glenview resident who has served on the board of education for three terms, the past two as president. First-time candidate Anni Goldberg announced she will no longer run for election in April.
With parent volunteer Anni Goldberg dropping out of the race, elections for District 28 school board are no longer contested. “I had to withdraw my name because I have to have my hip replaced,” said Goldberg. “The surgery is probably scheduled for April, right when the election is." Along with Greenbriar School PTO President Carol Currie, Goldberg was one of two newcomers running for one of three seats in District 28. Incumbents Bruce Ahlborn and Elizabeth Hall complete the ballot Goldberg says that while she’s no longer running for election this time, she hopes to run the next time elections come around, in 2013. “I have a first grader, and a seventh-grader, and one in between,” she said. “I have a long future with District 28.” Goldberg …
