Legally Blonde Opens Northbrook Children’s Theater Season

Performances of Legally Blonde start in December at the Northbrook Theatre.

The Northbrook Park District is tickled pink to present the sassy and sweet Legally Blonde, to kick off the 2012-13 Children’s Theatre season. Based on the book and film of the same name, the musical is a romantic comedy about a ditzy blonde “Valley girl” who follows an ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and discovers she’s much smarter than she or anyone thought. “I chose this show because the young actors in Northbrook have been asking for it,” says Gregg Dennhardt, Performing Arts Manager for the Northbrook Park District, the producing organization. “Many of them have seen the movie and enjoyed it. The production has a variety of good, strong roles and combines a catchy and clever score with humor that adults and children can enjoy.” …

Northbrook Theatre Children’s Company Holds Auditions for 'Legally Blonde'

Boy and girl auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, Sep. 5 and Thursday, Sep. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Northbrook Theatre, 3323 Walters Ave.

The hit musical Legally Blonde will bounce onto the stage in Northbrook, and auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, September 5 and Thursday, September 6 from 4-6pm at the Northbrook Theatre, 3323 Walters Avenue. Auditions are open to boys and girls in grades 6-10 and include acting, dancing and singing. Re-tooling fairy tales seems to be in vogue these days. Apparently the players in Hollywood believe that the world is hungry for a contemporary spin on the old standbys. After all, there’s universal appeal in stories featuring power, privilege, greed, love and a ball gown. That’s why I’m making a pitch for turning By Invitation Only: How We Built GILT and Changed the Way Millions Shop into a movie. It’s got blockbuster potential written all over.
