It’s early February, and we all know what that means: it’s time to abandon our New Year’s Resolutions. For the few among us who still think that whatever promises we made to improve ourselves we still might keep, let me say this: ha ha ha. Here was mine: to pack lightly. That’s right. I decided to take a lesson from my younger daughter, who can pack for a week of skiing in a carry-on bag and offer space to anyone else in the family who is having trouble cramming a week’s worth of necessities into a bag weighing less than 50 pounds. Before I continue, let me make clear the lesson my husband and I learned while planning our winter escapade: why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? Glenview House chef creates an anti-New-Year's resolution sandwich. Maybe you can start that new fitness regimen after lunch.
It's called the Ultimate BLT, but let's aknowledge Glenview House's newest dish for what it really is — an anti-New Year’s resolution sandwich. Glenview House’s Executive Chef Grant Slauterbeck created the sandwich, which has layers of half-pound crispy bacon, iceberg lettuce, juicy tomatoes and a house-made mayonnaise. All of that goodness is put between two grilled cheese brioche sandwiches that are slathered with butter, American and Swiss cheeses. If that’s not enough, you can add a cage-free fried egg to the creation for $1 more. Slauterbeck created the sandwich to fit in with the anti-near-year’s resolution theme. Resolving to keep his son in shape.
Did you made any New Year’s resolutions? Have you broken them yet? One of the most common resolutions is to exercise more and lose weight. And I am among those who have made that resolution.
