Three subjects were arrested on Thursday evening for burglary and trespassing motor vehicles, according to a Village memo.
The following items were part of the Village of Northbrook weekly memo. Police Activity Police arrested three subjects on Thursday evening for burglary and trespass to motor vehicles. Twelve vehicles parked at residences on Shannon, Greenwood, Crabtree and Crimson were broken into. One subject was taken into custody at the scene and the two fleeing subjects were later apprehended. All three arrested subjects are from Chicago. A residential burglary occurred on Bridlewood Road Wednesday, November 7. Various pieces of jewelry were removed. The home has an alarm system; however it was not armed on the day of the burglary. DUI On Oct. 15, at Waukegan and Willow at 11:17 p.m., Mark Katrich of Glenview was arrested and charged with DUI, driving while texting, improper lane usage and driving with one headlight, police said. He was released on bond and has a Nov. 30 court date. Burglary On Oct. 16, at 3:28 p.m., a 16-year-old boy returned to his home in the 3500 block of Sorrel Dr. and found his back door open, police said. Monday's scheduled trial has been post-poned in the case of a Northbrook man accused of killing his son.
Defense attorneys for Hyungseok Koh, a Northbrook man accused of fatally stabbing his 22-year-old son Paul in 2009, have filed motions to include nine expert witnesses in the jury trial, which delayed Monday's scheduled trial, the Northbrook Star reports. In response, State's attorneys filed motions to bar or limit these witnesses, Andrew Conklin, spokesman for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, told the Star. A status meeting for the case is set for Thursday, Sept. 13 in Skokie under Judge Garritt Howard. Northbrook Police arrested Hyungseok Koh in April 2009 after his son was found stabbed in the family’s home. A Fight in the Neighborhood Scott Penner, 43, of Highland Park was charged with domestic battery, police said, after an argument with a family member in Northbrook. A Northbrook Park District employee reported suspicious juvenile activity at Techny Prairie Park to local police, according to a village memo.
The following items were part of a staff briefing sent to Village of Northbrook employees, highlighting recent police activity and other village affairs. Earlier in June, a Park District employee called police to report suspicious activity at Techny Prairie Park involving numerous juveniles. The Park District employee approached the juveniles and recognized components of a makeshift explosive device. The Park District employee was able to photograph one of the juveniles involved. Tactical Officers were able to identify the juvenile and eventually interviewed a several juveniles in reference to this incident and three other subsequent incidents. The investigation ultimately resulted in the arrest of six juveniles who were charged with …

SATURDAY, JUNE 16 Anthony O’Connor, 42, of Valparaiso, IN was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was pulled over for traffic violations at Shermer and Willow roads, police said. In addition he was charged with screeching tires, speeding and improper lane usage. FRIDAY, JUNE 15 Two 17-year-old juveniles, a male from Northbrook and a female from Wheeling, were charged with possession of cannabis after the car they were riding in was stopped for speeding at Dundee Road and Division Street, police said. Bad Traffic Cheri Lynn McKee, 53, of West Hollywood, CA, was determined to be driving with a suspended license. Police said a search of the vehicle revealed a stun gun, several ID’s and various gift cards, among other items. McKee was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, driving with a suspended license and driving without a seatbelt. She was released on bond. A passenger, David Molinet, 26, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of identity theft, unlawful use of a weapon and posession of fraudlent identification. He is awaiting bond court. Cheer on Northbrook police as they carry the "banner" for Special Olympics Illinois.
Fifteen Northbrook police will carry the torch Sunday as they traverse through parts of town to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois. The Northbrook leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will start around 9:30 a.m. at Milwaukee Avenue and Hintz Road where officers will run two miles in a pack with counterparts from Northfield and Buffalo Grove. The ending point for their run will be River Road in Prospect Heights. Runners along this stretch will be escorted by cars from state police, plus vehicles from the Northbrook, Norfield and Buffalo police departments.
