For those with that wish it was granted by the survey Patch conducted to gauge reader interest in a tenant for the former Office Depot space near the intersection of Waukegan and Lake Cook Roads. The Glenbrook North girls' tennis team won the Maine East sectional and had champions in singles and doubles.
It was a good day. Those were the words of Glenbrook North girls tennis coach Peggy Holecek after her team won the Maine East Sectional in Park Ridge. Senior Hanna Yu won the singles title and the team of Anna Zelechonok and Katrine Zhadovich beat teammates Miriam Michelson and Lisa Silshtut in the doubles final. Not one of the GBN players lost a set until the teammates played each other in the doubles final. Safe to say, that's a very good day. To celebrate, Holecek—who is now in her seventh year of coaching girls tennis at GBN—took the team to nearby Portillo's. The Spartans won the sectional with 32 points, finishing ahead of Maine South's 25 and Glenbrook South's 21. GBN finished seventh in state last year and is capable of making a …
