It's official, Sarpino's opened in downtown Northbrook. The new delivery and carry-out service operates out of the former Northbrook Garage, at 1384 Meadow Rd. It's been about a year since the location was slated to become a pizzeria and bad luck with a contractor delayed the storefront's opening, but general manager Tisha Akulich says customers have already picked a favorite pizza off the 50+ item menu.  "The pizza Margarita is one of the favorites around here," Akulich said. "It's not like that at other stores." Tisha Akulich, 22, runs the franchise with the help of his parents, Ina and Alex. Each of them have previously worked at other Sarpino's but this is the Des Plaines family's first joint venture. When the family first moved to the…

Sarpino's Now Open In Downtown Northbrook

Maybe it took longer than expected, but there's a new pie in town.

In the heart of downtown Northbrook, in the former Northbrook Garage, Sarpino's Pizza is now open.  Sarpino’s manager Tisha Akulich said that the pizza chain emphasizes fresh ingredients and that he hopes to cater to individuals and businesses in Northbrook alike.  Maybe it took a little longer than expected — Akulich told Patch in September he had been met with some obstacles while getting the business off the ground — but maybe it's better late than never.  After all, who wants an undercooked pizza? Downtown Northbrook Sarpino's Opening Soon

The pizzeria's manager, Tisha Akulich, expects the restaurant to be fully operational by Oct. 1.

Looks like there's going to be a new pie in town. Sarpino's Pizza, which has been in development at Shermer Rd. and Meadow Rd. since last March, will likely open within the month.  According to the restaurant's manager, Tisha Akulich, a downtown Northbrook Sarpino's could be serving pizza by Monday, Oct. 1. It was originally meant to open in the summer. "We met a lot of obstacles so it was delayed," Akulich said, though he declined to specify what kept the store from opening sooner.  Akulich said he still needs to finish recruiting, training staff and testing his equipment.  Endurance Retail, which leases the building Sarpino's occupies — the former Northbrook Garage— has secured an agreement to buy parking space from St. Norbert's Church …

Sarpino's Pizza Slated For Site of Former Northbrook Garage

Franchise of national chain expected to open this summer.

A Sarpino’s Pizza store stands to become the third tenant in the former Northbrook Garage site at Meadow and Shermer roads. The national chain has contracted with the building’s leasing agent, Endurance Retail Partners LLC., to open a franchise in a 1,300-square-foot space on the east side of the building. The pizza delivery and takeout store will be located between the Sherwin-Williams paint store and the Caribou Coffee currently occupying the space. “It will just be a great addition to the property for families in the park,” said Oliver Plotkin, a partner with Endurance Retail. “It’s all made in house.”  Sarpino’s manager Tisha Akulich said that the pizza chain emphasizes fresh ingredients and that he hopes to cater to individuals and …
