The pantry serves nearly 700 families in the Northbrook-Glenview area. They are still accepting food and monetary donations.
As of today, there are 698 households eligable to use the Northfield Township Food Pantry. This time last year, the pantry served 679 families. The pantry staff say they're grateful for the surrounding community that generously provides food and funds that help the organization meet its demands, but food goes out about as quickly as it comes in and the store room remains less than full. Right now, the most needed items by the pantry are cereal, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pasta, sauce and beverages. They also accept monetary donations used to purchacse additional food items and grocery gift cards. Food can be dropped off at the pantry at 3801 West Lake Ave. in Glenview from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
