ReplySpeaking of unions and crooked politicians; can anyone explain why the usual kickback bums (Lorig, Lindahl, Meade and Home Towne) are digging up roads and clogging traffic everywhere except the construction zone in Willow Road? If I wanted to watch dozens of overpaid, underworked mopes standing around, I could visit the village hall, I don't need to see it from my car in gridlocked traffic on my way to work so I can pay ridiculous taxes to fund these same useful idiots.

ReplyWhy in the name of graft, can't they "cut down" the amount of grade crossings? Railroads have enough money to build overpasses at every crossing in America. And as long as you keep the government bureaucrats out of it, they won't take two years to build or collapse like the one on Shermer and Willow.

ReplyLandlords don't typically deny section 8. A lot of landlords love it because you'll get top market rate, paid on time every month. Usually the agency make so many goofy demands that it becomes unreasonable and the property owner backs out. Like putting in a new sidewalk because there's a crack in the old one, or installing a taller gate in the back yard, etc.

ReplyThey both stink.
Maybe we can have a good candidate who can do something for their constituency instead of just for their own political careers or special interests? -

ReplyYou're witnessing the death throes of a mortally wounded company. Cerberus is interested in the distribution and supply chain not the retail stores. They can never compete with non union stores. Bye bye Jewel.

ReplyAnother case of some over privileged "special" kid trying to kill people. He should have been institutionalized instead of being out in public in the first place. But because "special boy" comes from a wealthy family, he will be out again and eventually kill some poor slob. Of course, it will be the victims or society's fault.

ReplyHelped with sandbags because photographers were there. Why didn't he try and explain how the brand new multimillion dollar flood abatement projects along the river that clogged traffic for two years failed so miserably? In explaining wasteful spending; all politicians are sandbagging.

Now Willow Road is in complete chaos and gridlock from I-94 to Shermer. And Waukegan road is a mess from Techny to Chestnut.
This is the result when you have people that were too stupid and lazy to hold down jobs in the private sector become government leaders.
Term limits for ALL government employees! No more government careers.
