It is time to ban Glenn Posner for his insulting, racist attack in the comment sections of many articles. This cannot be tolerated by Patch, and readers should no longer be subjected to it.

Some of the PATCH world is back in order...although...the Dist 219 link to the "Journal" opens up with an article about Dist 71 contract negotiations. Apparently the "Journal" switched its link to today's date. We do things the old-fashioned way at the "Daily Planet" and get hollared at, too !

Clark, Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't aware the D219 story was not opening. I'll alert the tech people right away. I did fix the other problem with the duplication of the "Victim believes burglary was staged" story. At least I took all the right technical steps--now it's supposed to disappear from the site, but it hadn't last time I checked. I'll do what doctors call "watchful waiting." Thanks.

Ms. DeFiglio- FYI: Perhaps no one has mentioned this yet, but the article on Dist 219 and other schools "losing" revenues still does not open AND the "Victim believes burglary was staged" is listed in both the police grouping and government (the latter being more appropriate perhaps for reporting thefts). No real complaint about the hours and hours waiting for all of the advertising to be downloaded. Spending too much time clearing all those cookies the advertisers leave.
Have a nice day!

Hi Clark,
Happy New Year to you too. Yes, I think April 8 is the date she had in mind. Ms. Stone wrote that just before she left for her honeymoon, so I'm sure she was in a happy mood. Why ARE people always stealing the baby Jesus out of Nativity scenes? I've never figured that one out.

Belated Happy New Year!
On the Jan 7th police article there was reference to the theft of a plaster infant Jesus from a manger. Was Ms Stone trying to be cutsie by claiming "Sources say he'll be back in April?" April 8th perhaps?

Thanks for pointing that out. I think you're referring to the Niles North vs. Niles West "Crosstown Classic" story? One of my fellow editors "shared" that story with the Niles site. I've fixed it now. Thanks again. --Pam

Dear Ms DeFiglio....AGAIN!
I forgot to include in the earlier note how the public pensioners are going to get it stuck to them this week. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/billstatus.asp?DocNum=512&GAID=11&GA=97&DocTypeID=SB&LegID=55337&SessionID=84
The public school teachers are going to get it, too. The bi-partisan scam will ruin the pension system for the teachers. Poking around other pension items (my karma, I guess), I see that the RINOS took their orders from the Demoncrat Madigan and pushed a bill to give the MAYOR OF CHICAGO absolute control over the public workers' pension money. Imagine! Republicans falling over each other to hand Emanuel power over others' finances! It didn't pass THIS TIME! Just you wait! HB 3827 http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/billstatus.asp?DocNum=3827&GAID=11&GA=97&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=62112&SessionID=84
And then Przybylo will have his special bill so he can be the next mayor of Niles. How convenient. My, my! What mighty titans these solons in Springfield!
Have a dry day!

Oh...I'm easy to recognize http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXPS_5hnafE
I used to think that "Frosted Flakes" referred a cereal, and now I think it refers to politicians who are angry when exposed for their sins and crimes against sanity and humanity.
Can't meet for coffee now, I'm very busy. Been counting the one or two people on the "Free" Bus and working diligently on a new book entitled "The History of Modern Niles: Explorations and Interviews with Political Predators."

Dear Ms. DeFiglio:
It was rather surprising for all to see "legislators" (aka Mike Madigan obedient clones) D'Amico and RINO McAuliffe at the SJB school fund-raiser Saturday.
Oh sure, it will be the usual "I want to help people" yarn, but it is more likely that within a short time we'll see an attempt at an extreme makeover of NIles with city politicians backing ex-committeeman Przybylo.
Betcha a latte at the eco-friendly Starbucks (collectible sometime after the Consolidated Election of April 9, 2013)!

Hi Clark, The polls are a widget Patch just created in order to increase reader engagement. (The people at AOL, Patch's owner, love to use cyber-techno language like that.) Yes, I think it is possible that voting twice would affect the results. We pretty much have to go on the honor system, I guess. I think I'll put a note to that effect into future polls. Thanks, Pam DeFiglio

Dear Ms. DeFiglio:
Buona Sera!
If Mr. Callero has not responded to you with his statement, perhaps you might consider publishing the one which appeared in the "Bugle" indicating he did not reply to the PATCH oportunity. There might be citizens who would otherwise not have an opportunity to read his position or to respond to it.
I've been reading about Niles' past this weekend, and it has been informative (especially for what DIDN'T happen).
Ciao!

Hi Clark,
I was covering the Ethics Board meeting at the time, and as I was heading downstairs to the main chambers for the village board meeting, the village clerk told me it had ended. The whole thing erupted and was over in just a few minutes. We will aggregate the Journal's story for Patch and try to follow up. Thanks, Pam

"Lois Lane is dating someone else...what does this mean for Clark Kent? "
1. Lois gets a (temporary?) promotion based upon her unique journalistic talents.
2. Lois will have the opportunity to savor how good life has been, and still can be.
3. Jimmy will have to find another mentor.
4. Mr. White will have to find someone else with whom to be grumpy
5. Everybody will have new coordinated efforts to promote pro-life issues.
6. Clark will have more time for Niles Patch.

Hey, Pam.
Can you look into the whys, wherefores and whens of the Grennan Heights building being closed? It claims to be for "renovation" but the sign has no indication as to when it may be opened. I talked earlier with someone who worked inside and she said that her contract was up and she didn't know if anyone would be in there.
If this is the case, it's a shame. It's a great building and one of only a few that have bathroom facilities with running water (which figures large into play planning with children.)

About the Lewis University Story. It is very unfortunate that you would post this story before you have read all the facts of this arrest. Furthermore, I am disgusted that you would post the address of Niles residents that had no involvement with the incident that happened in Romeoville, Illinois. I would kindly ask to you edit it to respect the privacy of the people who where not involved in the incident. I have personally had contact with the family and the incident is not as black as white as you make it out to be. The family is a hard working Christian family that sent their child to college for a better future and the actions of the college roommate of the individual has caused this negative light to be brought upon this teenager. This situation has brought a large amount of emotional distress to the family and irresponsible stories will only make the matter worse. I would hope that you can take the responsible action and edit or remove the story until more facts are revealed. Thank You

Pam,
Question for you: I posted a comment about visiting the museum on your article (Mom and Spring Vacation). I wanted to print it out for our files and I got the "patch background" blotting out the article and comment. Is there a way to save and print the article and comment? Am I doing something wrong?
