New Orthodox Synagogue Could Cost $1 Million

The Darchei Noam of Glenbrook is a modern orthodox congregation serving Northbrook and Glenview families.

The Darchei Noam of Glenbrook, a modern orthodox congregation serving Northbrook and Glenview families, bought a 1.4-acre lot last September at 3465 Techny Rd. in hopes of building a new synagogue to serve its growing community, according to the Glenview Announcements.

The congregation is currently waiting for the Village of Northbrook's approval on the $1 million project, while they continue to meet and rent space at the Lubavitch Chabad of Northbrook synagogue, the Glenview Announcements reports.

If their application is approved, the Derchei Noam synagogue would be Northbrook's first new temple in 10 years, Patch previously reported.
