Northbrook Firefighters Assist Highland Park For Six Hours

An upgraded alarm in Highland Park had firefighters battling a blaze for almost six hours.

The following reports were provided by the weekly Northbrook village memo.

Northbrook Provides Mutual Aid to Highland Park
On Saturday, Nov. 23, around 1:20 p.m., Northbrook Tower Ladder 12 responded to Highland Park for a house fire. While en route, the alarm was upgraded to a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) extra alarm, and Engine 11 was also dispatched to provide station coverage. Tower Ladder 12 was on the fire scene for almost six hours assisting in the fire suppression. Paid-On Call firefighters provided coverage in the Northbrook fire station.
Fire Lieutenant Harris to Retire, Firefighter Woodbury Promoted
Lieutenant Jeff Harris has announced his retirement after 24 years of service with the Northbrook Fire Department effective Dec. 4. The Fire Department will recognize Lt. Harris at the Board of Trustees meeting on December 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Board of Fire and Police Commission also approved the Promotion of Firefighter/Paramedic Cliff Woodbury to Lieutenant/Paramedic. The Fire Department and Village Clerk Ford will be swearing in Lt. Woodbury on Monday, Dec. 2, at 8:00 a.m. at Fire Station 11.
